Canonical page: https://www.dspinspections.com.au/privacy-policy

DSP Building Inspections ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you engage us for a building or pest inspection, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

## Information we collect

We only collect information we need to quote for, book, carry out and report on your inspection. Depending on how you contact us, this may include:

- your name, email address and phone number;

- the address and type of the property to be inspected and the inspection you need;

- the name and phone number of the selling agent or buyer's agent, so we can arrange access;

- anything else you choose to tell us in a message, quote request or booking;

- your acceptance of our [Terms and Conditions](https://www.dspinspections.com.au/terms-and-conditions); and

- billing details needed to invoice you for the inspection.

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in server logs for security and reliability. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.

## How we use your information

- to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote;

- to book your inspection and liaise with the agent, builder or vendor to arrange access;

- to carry out the inspection and send you the report;

- to invoice you and keep business and tax records; and

- to protect our forms from spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.

## Who we share it with

We share personal information only where needed to provide our service, with:

- the real estate agent, builder or vendor, to arrange an inspection time (we will not pass on more than is needed, and many purchasers choose to remain anonymous);

- service providers that help us run the business, including our website host, form delivery and spam protection services (Web3Forms and hCaptcha), Google (to store enquiry records), Zapier (to pass bookings to our systems), and our job management and accounting software; and

- anyone we are required or authorised to share it with by law.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We use reputable providers that protect the information they hold.

## Your inspection report

Your inspection report is prepared for you, the client who engaged us. We do not give it to third parties without your permission, except where required by law.

## Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax and insurance record-keeping), and then delete or de-identify it.

## Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

## Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at [oaic.gov.au](https://www.oaic.gov.au).
